Those who received a I rating on a solo or small group performance were eligible to participate in the State Music Festival of the Missouri State High School Activities Association on April 28-29 at the University of Missouri-Columbia. MSHAA sponsors the Northeast Dis- Ill I 6OOD LUCK class of F liowe7)By Shed CA N TON LaGrange trict Festival. State winners already have been selected in a few categories from the competi- tion in Kirksville. Those categories include hand, Girls Glee Club, Boys Glee Club, Mixed Chorus, Orchestra and those ensembles involving more than eight persons. The overall competition in- cludecl vocal and instrumental performances in three classes, A (250 students and below), AA (251-500 students), and AAA (500-1200 students). State winners receiving I ratings included the Canton To the graduates, a proud sate. LEWISTOWN Band (a). District winners receiving I ratings who will compete in the State Music Festival included: Highland, Girls vo- cal solo, Janet Rush; Madri- gal; oboe solo, Renee Ilia; snare drum solo and multiple percussion solo, Lyndon Ald- erton.
