Wallace Carskadon
Wallace Carskadon, 76 of rural
Canton, a retired farmer, died
Wednesday, July 17, 1985, in Maple
Lawn Nursing Home at Palmyra.
Wallace Johnson Carskadon was
born in Lewis County Aug. 16, 1908, a
son of Robert and Tida Horn
Carskadon. He married Rosalee Harris
March 3, 1932, in Kahoka. Mr.
Carskadon farmed near Canton until
his retirement in 1970. He has served
as president of the board of directors
of the Gregory Drainage District for
several years and was a member of
the First Baptist Church of Canton.
Survivors include his wife; two
daughters, Larene Precht of St. Louis
and Carol Hardy of Quincy; two
brothers, Robert Carskadon of La-
Grange and Paul Carskadon of
Canton; a sister, Virginia Saylor of
Canton; four grandchildren; and other
relatives. He was preceded in death by
his parents, a son and a brother.
Funeral services were held Friday in
the Davis Funeral Chapel in Canton,
conducted by the Rev. Milton
Baumgardner. Music was provided by
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Zenge with Mrs.
Marvin Zenge at the organ.
Pall bearers were Jim Barkley,
Belle Peters, Fred Schlotter, Glenn
Miller, Bob Cook and Jim Rogers.
